Angels of Assisi announces new pet hospital, adoption center

ROANOKE, Virginia – A local pet clinic is about to make its biggest fundraising effort to open a new pet hospital and adoption center in Roanoke.

On Monday, the Angels of Assisi announced the launch of a $ 3 million fundraising campaign, “Imagine” to open a new 16,000 square foot facility that will have a pet hospital and adoption center.

The new facility, which will be located at the corner of Franklin Road and Elm Avenue, is intended to replace the Community Pet Clinic and Adoption Center on Campbell Avenue.

Leaders of the Angels of Assisi said the new facility will include surgical suites, a pharmacy, diagnostic suites, an adoption center and more. Other services the pet clinic hopes to provide include endoscopy, acupuncture, and orthopedic surgery.

“Although we have expanded our services and programs to better serve the people and animals in the community, our space, unfortunately, has remained the same and we have found ourselves at a critical point,” said Lisa O’Neill, Executive Director of Angels of Assise. “The new facility will be able to better serve the community to ensure pet owners have access to affordable veterinary care for their beloved pets while finding homes for the animals through the Adoption Center. “
