Blue Yonder revamps PETstock supply chain amid growing pet adoption

Rising pet adoption has led pet company PETstock to digitally transform its supply chain with Blue Yonder’s SaaS category management solution, part of Luminate Commerce, to create stores based on consumer preferences.

Citing data from the Pets and the Pandemic Report by Animal Medicines Australia, PETstock said pet adoption has increased in Australia, with 69% of households now owning a pet.

The report also states that 37% of pet owners said they had difficulty accessing pet food, treats and veterinary services.

The situation forced the company to reorganize its supply chain.






PETstock operates in Australia and New Zealand and provides pet products and services to retail stores and veterinary clinics.

The company was looking to better allocate space in its stores to meet customer demand and ensure the right items are always available.

So, he turned to Blue Yonder for the solution.

Strikeforce, a Blue Yonder partner, implemented the project and PETstock was commissioned in record time and on budget.

The implementation now allows PETstock to:

  • Implement data-driven analytical store layouts to optimize category space allocations
  • Increase efficiency by creating store layouts that are accurate and easy for stores to implement, as well as integrated with micro-space planning
  • Create planograms with optimized capacities and coatings based on local demand and store space constraints.
  • Reduce inventory by adapting assortment spacing to eliminate slow-moving inventory and introduce new SKUs to drive sales.

Blue Yonder’s category management solution will allow PETstock to optimize store layouts to maximize space.
