Items ship from Singapore, Korea, Hong Kong and China and have been a hit since the store opened on June 2.
Mr Chui, originally from Hong Kong but living in Edinburgh for 10 years, was blown away by the reaction.
He had originally hoped to open a cafe for cats but the pandemic made him reconsider.
Mr Chui, who worked in tourism before opening the store, said: “It mainly started when we first got our cats about four years ago, which increased our demand for products for pets.
“We were looking for a lot of products for our pets but couldn’t find the ones we wanted in the UK.
“So we thought why not bring them to the market ourselves and open a store.
“We get our stuff from Singapore, Korea, Hong Kong and China. There’s some crazy stuff out there for pets.
“We’ve had so many people, including people in the pet industry, come forward and tell us they’ve never seen most of the products we stock in store.
“People find it funny to see dog ice cream.
“Some of the flavors we have include honey and banana, banana apple and carrot, and strawberry and apple.
“We also make frozen yogurts that dogs go crazy for – they finish the whole pot in seconds.
“Another popular product of ours is Tofu Cat Litter.
“This stuff is really useful and good for the environment.
“You can flush it straight down your toilet or put it in a flowerpot and it dissolves within a week.
“One of my dogs had a piece of fur missing that needed sunscreen.
“So I ordered some dog sunscreen to help owners with similar issues.
“It was really crazy, we had a lot of positive feedback.
“Suppliers and customers said they had never seen anything like it.”
The shop also sells corals and unusual plants.
Johnny added: “Part of the business idea came from our own need for products.
“I originally wanted to open a cafe for cats, but due to covid and social distancing it’s not ideal at the moment.
“We also make unique corals, you can’t buy them anywhere in Scotland.
“Business is going well and improving gradually every day.
“We renovated the store ourselves and ordered everything in batches from abroad.
“It took six months, but if shipping hadn’t been an issue, it would have taken us three months.
