Fort Worth waives pet adoption fees for August

Do you want to adopt a dog or a cat? The City of Fort Worth is waiving adoption fees for the month of August.

It is part of the national Clear the Shelters campaign underwritten by NBCUniversal Local, a division of NBCUniversal. The program began in partnership with Fort Worth Animal Care & Control in 2015. Over 700,000 animals have found new homes through the campaign.

“The summer months are notoriously the time when we have the most intake,” said Dr. Tim Morton, assistant code compliance manager, Fort Worth Animal Care & Control. “But this year has been a huge challenge for us with a higher than normal number of animals entering the shelter. We are confident that our community will come out and support this great adoption event.

Adoptions will continue throughout the month at these locations:

  • North Animal Campus, 351 Hillshire Dr.

  • Chuck and Brenda Silcox Animal Care and Adoption Center, 4900 Martin St.

  • Hulen PetSmart Adoption Center, 4800 SW Loop 820

  • Alliance PetSmart Adoption Center, 2901 Texas Sage Trail

All animals available for adoption are neutered or neutered, microchipped and vaccinated. Check the Animal Control website daily for animals available for adoption.

Also visit the Animal Control Facebook page for animal updates.
