Metro Animal Care and Control is waiving adoption fees for people wishing to adopt a dog or cat.
The facility revealed that it has reached full capacity and is currently housing more than 60 dogs. Fees will be waived for claims and adoptions until Sunday.
Adoption counselors are available to speak to potential pet owners between noon and 4 p.m.
Animals put up for adoption are sterilized or sterilized, microchipped and receive the first vaccines. Many of the property’s dogs are considered strays or lost. Photos are taken and uploaded to PHShelter.com and posted under the “I lost a pet” tab.
Recovery services are offered during business hours and fees are currently being waived to give owners the option of bringing their lost pets home. Anyone wishing to pick up their pet must bring proof of ownership to show the shelter.

Information on how to welcome a pet
Metro Animal Care and Control is asking people to consider opening their home to welcome a pet. Pets will live in the home until the animal is adopted.
The property will provide all food and equipment when housing a pet. Foster Family Coordinators are available to educate and support foster parents. Fostering pets can create space in shelters for emergency catches.
