Oblock Cares Participates in Hans Olsen and Scotty G Pet Adoption Day

SALT LAKE CITY- The KSL Area Sports Network went live at the Humane Society on June 29 for Pet Adoption Day Hans Olsen and Scotty G. Two University of Utah football offensive linemen were accompanied to support their OblockCares initiative. Tyler Knaak and Hunter Deuel represented OblockCares in an effort to provide a new home for deserving Utah pets.

Life is better with a best friend

Both Knaak and Deuel took the time to share their personal pet stories in the hopes that it would inspire locals to come and get a furry friend themselves. Knaak remembered a sweet story where his dog and his rabbit were racing around the yard until his dog tripped and the rabbit ended up on the pile. Deuel, on the other hand, offered some great advice on remembering to keep your dogs on a leash so they don’t get lost and end up at the Humane Society.

Jim Harding’s group started OblockCares with the goal of getting out into the community and doing good. Based on Nick Ford, former and current Jacksonville Jaguar lineman with Utah Foster Care, Nick Ford’s Sunday supper, OblockCares is a continuation of Ford’s work with a focus on getting everyone on the offensive line involved. . The idea is that the group will play better as a whole if they work hard together on and off the pitch.

OblockCares’ first event as an official band was with Utah Foster Care at the Utah Chalk Art Festival where Knaak, Kolinu’u Faaiu, Johnny Maea, Paul Maile showed up to support the families Nick Ford started helping. The next event for OblockCares will also involve Utah Foster Care as they are set to host the next Sunday dinner July 10th.

More details to come.
