Roanoke Valley SPCA and Angels of Assisi to participate in annual pet adoption event and golf tournament on Saturday

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) – Whether you’re looking for a new furry friend or a fun round of golf, Saturday’s 7th Annual Pet Adoption Event and Wendy M. Bowling Golf Tournament both offers and benefits to two animal shelters in the Roanoke Valley!

The Pet Adoption Event and Wendy M. Bowling Golf Tournament – which will donate 100% of the proceeds to Angels of Assisi and the Roanoke Valley SPCA – will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 19. at the Blue Hills Golf Club. at Roanoké.

So far, 128 pets have been adopted and $ 50,540 has been raised for the Roanoke Valley SPCA and Angels of Assisi at previous Wendy M. Bowling Memorial Pet Adoption and Golf Tournament events, according to the shelter.

“The Wendy M. Bowling Pet Adoption Event and Golf Tournament provide much needed adoption funds and opportunities for our shelter,” said Denise Hayes, General Manager of the Roanoke Valley SPCA. “Not only are we thrilled to have an in-person event after a year of social distancing, we are also incredibly grateful for the Bowling Family’s continued commitment to animal welfare in the Roanoke Valley.”

Cats and dogs will be on site and available for adoption at Saturday’s event.

Even if you don’t have tickets for the 1 p.m. golf tournament, the Roanoke Valley SPCA says you’re still welcome to attend the adoption event, which starts at 10 a.m.
